Exploring Kubrick’s Signature Camera Technique

There is that one camera angle Stanley Kubrick has used in most of his movies to make the audience feel claustrophobic. Furthermore, this Stanley Kubrick Signature Shot is instantly recognisable to fans of his work.

This shot is called One Point Perspective. Stanley often used this angle with wide lenses and tracking shots down hallways to create the feeling of being suffocated.

Stanley Kubrick used this camera angle to create a deeply unsettling, hypnotic, and symmetrical viewing experience. This is one of my favorite camera angles.

He notably used this in A Clockwork Orange (1971), 2001 A Space Odyssey (1968), and Dr Strangelove (1964). In addition, he used it in The Shining (1980), Full Metal Jacket (1987), and his last film Eyes Wide Shut (1999).
